Find The Value of Nth Term when Common Difference, Number of Terms and First Term are Given

Find The Value of Nth Term when Common Difference, Number of Terms and First Term are Given: To find the nth term we will use the formula for the nth term of an AP.

a_n=a+(n-1)d

Example:  Find the 10th term of the AP whose first term is 2 and the common difference is 6

Solution :    Here, a= 2, d= 6 and n= 10,

We have                large a_{n}=a+(n-1)d

So,                         dpi{120} large a_{10}=2+(10-1)times 6=2+54=56

Therefore , the 10th term of the given AP is 56.

Example: Rohan's father gave him a piggy bank with Rs 200 in it. Each day Rohan puts Rs 5 in it. What will be the amount in the piggy bank after 25 days.

Solution: a= Rs 200

                d= Rs 5

                n= 25

large a_{n}=a+(n-1)d

a_{25}=200+(25-1)times 5=200+120= 320 ;Rs
